Dear SMS families,
We are excited to announce our PTSO Panther Pounce fundraiser which starts now and runs through March 14th! This annual event helps to raise important funds for our school. The Panther Pounce is similar to a “Fun Run,” but with a twist—the event is held in the gym and students watch and cheer on either the SMS faculty OR the girls’ and boys’ basketball teams (or both!) as they compete to win the game and the coveted, Golden Panther. Students raise money by seeking donations, just like they do for a “Fun Run” from family and friends and the proceeds still go to support their school’s fundraising event.
Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Your child will set out to gather a minimum of $30 in donations from family, friends,
and community members. Click on the Panther Pounce image above to register and begin fundraising today!
Step 2: On the day of the Panther Pounce, if your child has raised the minimum amount, he or
she will receive a t-shirt and will participate in the event. If you child has raised more than the
minimum amount, he or she gets to participate even further. Please see fundraising levels
below.
Step 3: After the event, all donations and funds raised will be used to support important
school programs and initiatives.
Not only will this event help raise crucial funds for our school, but it’s also a wonderful way for the
students to cheer on the students and faculty and build a sense of school spirit. Plus, there will be
exciting prizes!
We kindly ask for your support in encouraging your child to participate and helping them reach out
to potential donors. Your involvement truly makes a difference, and we appreciate any effort you
can give in helping us make this event a success. This year we hope to raise $35,000.
