Dear SMS families,

Thank you to the families and students who attended 6th grade Orientation and 7th and 8th grade schedule and ID pick up. If you were unable to attend Orientation the presentation is copied in the Documents section below. Please review that document to get the information you missed. Families who did not attend Orientation should plan to pick up their child's schedule and ID next week sometime prior to the first day of school. This is imperative for the first day to go more smoothly.

Important Dates

8/5 - Schedule/ID Pick Up Alternate Date to walk the campus - 3:00-5:00 PM- Office open until 4:30pm)

8/3-8-7 - Pick up schedules and IDs 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (no walking the campus except for 8/5)

8/10 - First day of school for students📆

8/20 - Picture Day

8/24-8/28 - FAST Assessment Progress Monitoring 1

8/27 Open House 🏫 (More information to come)

BUS Registration/ Issues Link-Transportation - Please use link to register for the bus, report any issues with stops, report late buses, transportation contact information, and to download the My Ride K-12 app. All transportation is handled at the Transportation department and not at SMS. The deadline to ensure you have a bus the first week was July 27th. Once you are assigned a bus - you can view your bus number and stop on the app. Please be patient - as this process can take up to/over a week.

Parent University Orientation Handouts Important Information

Campus Open to walk schedules: August 5th (3pm - 5pm)

Schedule Pick-up: Students can pick up their schedules/ID in front office (8/3 - 8/7) from 8:30 - 4pm.for pickup of ID, schedules and to walk the campus. (no presentation on this day.)

Bus transportation Information (register for a bus, reporting a issue with transportation, bus district contacts, parent tracking app, & general FAQ's) All transportation is addressed at the district level. Once you have registered for a bus - download the app to receive notifications of bus number/stop. Please be patient as this process can take up to/over a week. Deadline for guaranteed first week transportation is 7/27.
