Principal/Assistant Principal Application Process

Qualifications for Principal

  • Master's degree from an accredited educational institution.

  • Florida certificate in Educational Leadership, School Principal, Administration, or Administration and Supervision

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in education.

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience as a school administrator.

  • Must qualify for Administrative Pool prior to interviewing. 

Qualifications for Assistant Principal

  • Master's degree from an accredited educational institution.

  • Florida certificate in Educational Leadership, School Principal, Administration, or Administration and Supervision

  • Minimum of three (3) years successful classroom teaching experience.

  • Must qualify for Administrative Pool prior to interviewing.

Application Procedures

  • Online Administrative application

Documents Required

  1. Two references using the online application process.  All References must be from supervisors or administrators.  Supervisors or administrators must be identified in the Work Experience section and/or Professional References section of the application.

  2. Current resume

  3. All official academic transcripts (cannot be uploaded copies). Transcripts can be sent from the University to certification@sarasotacountyschools.net.
