Let’s meet our Brentwood Staff….. James McCarrick, Brentwood's School Resource Officer.
Officer McCarrick spent almost 27 years as a Police Officer with the Wheeling Illinois Police Department. This included 6 years as a detective, 12 years as a Road Youth Officer, 7 years as an Evidence Technician and Field Training Officer. He also served as the union President and Vice President. He came to Florida in 2014.
In January 2015 he started with the Sarasota County Schools as a classified substitute and worked as a security and school aid. He was even a substitute teacher. In 2018 when the Sarasota County Schools Police Department was formed he was one of the original 12 officers and has now been with the department for 6 years. His wife is also one of the original 12 officers.
