The Dive into Reading program is making an exciting splash this summer with the addition of a new mentoring site in North Port! In partnership with Sarasota County Schools, the Suncoast Campaign for Grade Level Reading, and the Shuckin’ Good Cause initiative, this innovative summer program pairs caring adult mentors with elementary students to help strengthen reading skills in a fun, restaurant-based setting.
Students from Emma E. Booker Elementary will once again benefit from this beloved summer initiative, and for the first time, the program is expanding to serve students from Cranberry Elementary. Reading sessions will take place at Anna Maria Oyster Bar in North Port and Gecko’s Grill & Pub on Fruitville Road.
