A little bit about me...

I was born and raised in Sarasota.  I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education and have just finished my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  I am married with one son who is currently a senior in high school.  I have two dogs named Chelsey and Sydney, one bird by the name of Puffer, and 12 fish that love our Koi pond.  We are definitely animal lovers!  In my spare time I enjoy anything that has to do with the water, which includes boating, swimming, and snorkeling.  In addition, I love to read and travel.

I believe in creating a classroom environment that is supportive of all learners.  Character education reinforces this belief system and is established at the beginning of the year in my classroom.  It is very important that my students have opportunities to connect to their learning in a safe and supportive environment.  My teaching philosophy supports hands-on and cooperative learning so that students can take an active role in their learning.  I love teaching Second grade and look forward to coming to work every day.
