Time to celebrate! Our school has recently been recognized for our work implementing a school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework. PBIS is an evidence-based three-tiered prevention framework designed to improve and integrate all data, systems, and practices impacting student outcomes. National research shows that full implementation of PBIS leads to reduced exclusionary discipline and improved student and teacher outcomes.

By establishing the PBIS framework, we are developing skills of the students and adults, making system changes to our school environment to enhance school climate, acknowledging appropriate behavior, and using data to identify needed supports for our students and teachers.

As a result of this work, we are being recognized by the FLPBIS Project for achieving Silver PBIS Model School status. This award demonstrates our commitment to positive outcomes for all students and helps us celebrate our efforts as we progress toward full implementation of PBIS.

The PBIS team at Taylor Ranch School establishes common expectations for student behavior and incentives to motivate the students, while maintaining a safe and positive school culture and community for all.

Student Recognitions

Students are recognized quarterly in grades 2-5 for academic success by earning Honor Roll for all A's and B's and Straight A's. Students in grades K-5 are recognized quarterly for our 3 TRS Character Expectations of "Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be a Star". One student per class is also recognized monthly for the Character trait of the month by being nominated by their teacher.

Family and Student Involvement

Students are recognized daily for following schoolwide expectations throughout campus. Students can earn “positive behavior” tickets by exhibiting expectations. Their names are then placed in a drawing which is done on the TRS News, winners receive a choice of prizes (cookie party, dance party, mystery reader, extra recess, etc.)

Families are given information regarding schoolwide PBIS initiatives via monthly parent meetings with the TRS Boosters and SAC, as well as via the school website and social media. Schoolwide positive behavior and discipline data is also shared with families at monthly Boosters meetings.
