Adults taking classes

Adult Basic Education (ABE)

The Adult Basic Education (ABE) Program is designed to provide adults with literacy instruction in reading and mathematics. Each student's basic skills are assessed, and the results are used to plan a program of study in these subject areas. The ABE Program helps to refresh skills so that students can enroll in a GED® Preparation Class. A basic skills test must be completed prior to class registration. This test helps determine an appropriate study plan for each student.

Students who are 16 or 17 years of age must be officially withdrawn from high school in order to enroll in ABE or GED® Preparation Classes.
