Students in the 21st century require an education that addresses the challenge of learning about an interconnected world where knowledge is constantly developing.  A Phillippi Shores IB World School education prepares students to be active participants in a lifelong journey of learning.  At Phillippi, we never stop trying to improve our curriculum and make learning fun.  Perhaps our proudest moment to date, in the Spring of 2007, Phillippi became one of a select few schools throughout the nation to become an authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme school. 

Other notable highlights include:

• Phillippi earned its seventeenth consecutive “A” grade through Florida’s A+ Plan.

• Phillippi once again earned the Five Star School Award for community involvement.

International Baccalaureate PYP
Phillippi Shores Elementary became an authorized International Baccalaureate School in February 2007.  We successfully completed our evaluation in 2010, 2015 and 2021. 

As an International Baccalaureate school, we promote intercultural understanding and respect, not as an alternative to a sense of cultural and national identity, but as an essential part of life in the 21st century.  The IB mission is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
