About Oak Park - Home Of The Panthers

Oak Park School is the center school for special needs in the Sarasota County School District serving students from Pre K to age 22. Each student’s needs are met through an Individualized Education Program. Small, nurturing classroom environments with highly trained staff support students academically and behaviorally to achieve their maximum potential.

Our Mission
The mission of Oak Park School is to promote student achievement and self-advocacy in a safe and supportive environment based on the individual needs of each student while acknowledging that parent and family engagement is a shared responsibility that encourages high-quality academic instruction and therapeutic intervention for all learners.

Our Vision
Oak Park School collaboratively works alongside parents and families to ensure each student receives high-expertise instruction and therapeutic supports to maximize individual potential. 

Specialized Services and Programs
Our services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, vision therapy, hippotherapy, aquatic therapy, hearing services, assistive and augmentive communication services, counseling services, nursing services, adaptive physical education, music, art, horticulture, scouts, vocational training both on and off campus, job coaching services, OJT, Community Based Instruction, social skills training programs, and behavior modification programs.

 Positive Behavior Support (PBIS)
Oak Park is a Florida model PBIS school. As Panthers, we are Respectful, On-Task, Accepting, and Responsible. Hear us ROAR!
