SARASOTA COUNTY, Dec. 1, 2017 - The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County will offer free flu vaccinations at three schools beginning Tuesday, Dec. 5, for children who are 18 and younger, or who are still in high school.

Flu clinics will be held at these north, middle and south county locations from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.: Tuesday, Dec. 5 at Booker High; Wednesday, Dec. 6 at Pine View School; and Friday, Dec. 8 at North Port High.

A flu vaccination is the best and safest way to protect students against several flu viruses. Protection will be effective within two weeks and should last until the end of the flu season. It’s important for children to be immunized for their own protection and to prevent the flu from spreading to families.

Anyone under 18 years of age will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive a vaccination.
