It’s your principal, Mrs. Miller, coming to you with a special summer edition of Miller’s Minute!☀️💙 Can you believe school supplies are already popping up on store shelves? As we soak up these final weeks of summer, I wanted to share three quick updates to help you prepare for the 2025–2026 school year.
📌 1. Re-Registration Reminder
If you haven’t already, please take a moment to re-register your child on the Focus Portal.
👉 Students must be re-registered each year, and this process helps us determine our staffing and class placements.
It only takes a few minutes—but it makes a big difference! Thank you for making this a priority.
👟 2. Updated Dress Code = Sneakers for Success!
We’ve updated our dress code policy with input from our amazing PTO, SAC, and SDMT teams.
👉 The biggest change?
Students must wear athletic shoes (sneakers/tennis shoes) daily in order to participate in PE and Recess.
That means no Crocs, sandals, or boots—even if they’re cute! 😉
So as you’re shopping for the school year, keep this in mind so your child is ready to learn, move, and play safely every day.

🚴 3. Ride Smart – Helmets Required!
If your child rides a bike or scooter to school, they must wear a helmet every day (as required by Florida state law).
✅ No helmet = no ride off campus.
Don’t have a helmet yet? We can help!
