SAC/SDMT MEETING

Meeting
called to order at 3:15 p.m.
Those
in attendance: Marta Calabrese, Candace Dearing, Susan Fairey, Cheryl Farr,
Kris Martin, Cynthia McGrail, Lynn Nilssen, Jane O’Malley, Sheri Paulsen, Ann
Putnam, Ruth Wright, Barbara Neel, Guilda Langston.

The IB
trip will be funded in part by the District and in part by the PTA. See last
month’s minutes for a list of those representing Phillippi at the IB School in

The
Budget
The
budget for next year is complete. (See attached) Stipends will be addressed at
the next meeting. Teachers wishing to apply for a stipend next year will need to contact M Calabrese
before next meeting. Cynthia McGrail will inform teachers of stipend positions
and list job descriptions through BBS. She will also invite teachers who had a
position this year to present information about the amount of work required for
each supplemental job to SAC before next meeting. M Calabrese will make sure
SAC member receive copies of all reports and any teachers requesting stipends
for next year before our May meeting so SAC members can come informed to make
proper decisions.

A+ Monies
Sheri
Paulsen will create a ballot for the staff to vote on A+
money for this school year. There will be a 4-part ballot that
addresses; points or no points, percentages,
Scholastic book fair money and a 3-year decision. See sample ballot attached.
Ballot will be explained at our next staff meeting, before voting. Result s
will be shared at next SAC (May 4) for further discussion and final decision
will be reached by consensus.

Tina
Borres has ordered math textbooks. We can address supplementing the math
program with Saxon math at a future date. Saxon requires a commitment at all
grade levels because this is a program that services low level math students
from kindergarten to fifth grade. It is a repetitive system that loops skills
in order to aid in students retaining them.
