SDMT/SAC MEETING

January 27, 2003

M I N U T E S

Sharon Lantheaume called the meeting to order.

Leiland Eible presented the first agenda item.  She recommended the purchase of three suspension microphones for our stage and supplied information about the cost of installation. She also recommended the purchase of an omni-directional microphone to suspend from the cafeteria ceiling for better sound during school programs. Final decisions on sound system expenditures wait further cost clarification.

The second agenda item addressed was school uniforms. Three guests were invited from schools that currently have uniforms: Kathy Manning from Ashton, Michele Ralich and Ann Murphy both from Tuttle. The three entertained questions from committee members about implementation of a uniform policy. After the question and answer period, committee members reached consensus on the next few steps in determining whether to move forward with uniforms or not.

Dottie Rosenfeld volunteered to draft a parent letter explaining the committee’s interest in further exploration of the matter.  Also, some research on the subject will be included in an effort to present a rationale for this consideration. This letter will be presented and discussed at the February staff meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:45
