M I N U T E S

The minutes from SDMT/SAC committee meeting of Sept. 18th are as follows:

Election of Officers was held. Officers were selected for the 2002-2003 school year. Chairperson- Sharon Lantheaume

Vice Chair- Dottie Rosenfield

Recording Secretary -Pam Singer and Kristin Martin

The following items were discussed and consensus was reached on several matters including :

_ SAC membership will now require a minimum of 2 parents and no students.

_ changes in the attendance policy are noted; 2 consecutive absences (unexcused) will result in a committee member's replacement.

_minutes from each meeting will be sent via e-mail to the district.

_ it was agreed that committee members will reach consensus on agenda items rather than to take a vote on each.

_Sac members will be nominated at the first SAC meeting of each school year. It was decided that members may share an office.

_dress code was discussed and a committee was formed to take the Blue handbook dress code to the PTA for discussion. Teachers were to discuss with teams.

_Equity books were sent home at the beginning of the year with students.

_ computer headphones were presented as an immediate need in the computer labs and science lab. $566.20 from capital outlaywas approved for the purchase of headphones.

_ Strategic Plan for Excellence(formerly known as the School Improvement Plan) was renamed by the School Board.

_ The goal of Safe and Orderly Schools was added to our school's plan as a priority need.

_ School Recognition monies were discussed and consensus was reached on how they would be disbursed. It was decided that 40% bonus would go to all current school board employees who worked for a minimum of 90 days at Phillippi in the 2001-2002 Year. The 60% bonus which was designated for internal accounts will be divided among staff with internal accounts. The 60% bonus into internal accounts will include the account of staff members new to Phillippi this year.
