Members Absent: Teri Sayre, Lori Ann Kennelly,
Co-Chair Kelly Howard called the meeting to order at 3:45 pm.
The minutes from the last meeting were approved with one correction . . .
“Elyse Nutter proposed purchasing 7 Activslates at $399 each and 7 (32 piece sets) of Activotes at $1,495 per set.”
Motion for approval: Geoffrey Gibbs

Vote: Unanimous approval for correction to minutes.
New Business: 2007 Changes to School Grades & AYP
2006-2007 School Grade Changes
· Science added as a seventh component to 5th grade
· Math, lowest 25%, added as an eight component to grades 3,4 & 5
· School grading scale revised from 600 points scale to 800 points scale
Writing (4th grade only)
· The writing component of the 2006-2007 school grade will continue to be based on the essay portion and on the percent of students scoring 3.5 or higher.
· Once the 2006-2007 writing achievement levels are established by the SBE, the school grading criteria will change to include the total test (essay plus multiple choice)
Science (5th grade only)
· One point will be awarded for each percent of students meeting high standards (i.e., the percent of students scoring achievement level 3 or above on FCAT Science).
2006-2007 State Targets for AYP
· 95% participation rate
· 51% of students proficient in reading (level 3 or higher)
· 56% of student proficient in math (level 3 or higher)
· 1% improvement in writing proficiency or 90% score 3 and above
· 1% improvement in graduation rate or 85%
· School Grade not a D or an F
*Students with achievement level of 3 or above on the FCAT or alternative assessment are proficient for purposes of determining AYP
Revise Lakeview’s
A new vision statement was developed.
Representatives will share with teams.
