November 13, 2002
Present: Jan Coleman, Theresa Baus, Linda Knight, George Leassig, Terri Tucker, Khizran Usman, Mary McChesney, Dan Barnes, Debbie Flessner, Jennifer Yahraus, Pam Kalchbrenner, Tina Campbell, Marian Behrman, Marilyn Denlinger, Jennifer Purmort, Julie Murray and Liz Peters
Marian Behrman called the meeting to order at 3:20pm. The following corrections were made to the October 16, 2002 minutes: Marian Behrman was not present and priority use of A+ monies by the Kindergarten was for contract services for 2nd and 3rd grade classes. Minutes approved with corrections.
School Recognition Money:
Each representative shared the results of their constituents:
5th – Priority is contracted services for media aide with balance of the money for technology (i-books and camcorder).
4th – Priority is contracted services for 1) media aide, 2) 2nd & 3rd grade aide, 3) A/R tests, 4) technology (cameras & i-books).
3rd – 1) i-books, 2) 2nd & 3rd grade aide, 3) media center aide.
2nd – Same priorities as 3rd grade.
1st – Priorities are 1) computers in the classroom, 2) teacher laptops, 3) i-books.
K – Priorities are 1) 2nd & 3rd grade aides, 2) media center aide and 3) i-books.
ESE – Priorities are 1) 2nd & 3rd grade aide and 2) i-books.
Classified – Priority to 1) media /CCC aide, 2) i-books, 3) computers, 4) digital camera and 5) 2nd & 3rd aides.
Parents – Priority first to aide in media center then aide for 2&3 grade aides.
Citizen – same as above.
Support – Priority to 1) technology (i-books and digital cameras) and 2) media center aide.
Jan reported that contracted services can use an A2 aide for 120 days @ 7hours for a total of $6,451.20 per aide. We have approximately $40,000 to spend.
Jennifer Yahraus reported that each i-book cart is approximately $16,500. Digital cameras are $300.00 each.
Theresa Baus motioned to purchase an i-book cart for $16,500, 7 digital cameras for $2,100, 2 camcorders for $1,600 and one media center aide for $6,451.20. This totaled $26,651.20 with the balance of approximately $14,000 for future spending. The motion was carried.
Subcommittee Reports
Safe and Orderly Schools subcommittee report – Theresa Baus and George Laessig reported that goals should remain as written in prior SIP. They stressed that the office receptionist ask for ID from all unknown adults.
Jan Coleman asked that as committees report to please make copies for all other members of SAC. Vicki Schutz has template and will type in all changes.
For future meetings, Jan would like at least three committees to give their reports.
