School Advisory Council Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, January 8, 2008

3:45 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Members Present: Don Knoepfle, Carla Johnson, Tish Temple, Kirk Hutchinson, Michael O’Brien, Elaine Stewart, Nina Schwartz, Lori Ackling, Jenness DeBruler, Pat Robison, Kristen Cawthorne, Yasmin Rodriguez, Bruce Spicer, Mary Kirsten.

Non-Members Present: Lori Ehrenhaft for Connie Lightfoot

Tish Temple called the meeting to order at 3:50 p.m.

Review Minutes from last SAC meeting, December 11, 2007.

New Business:

Nina Schwartz and Kirk Hutchinson conducted an FCAT presentation.

· SAC was shown sample questions and asked to complete the sample question.

· Discussion of the answer and how the answer could be found followed.

· A question/answer session was conducted to answer any questions SAC members had on what parents were expected to or could do at home. Expectations of the students’ performance were explained through the sample questions.

· Math and Science samples were also shown to SAC.

PTO “Discount Card” Fundraiser will begin in January. PTO is preparing for the 5K run on January 19^th.

Close of S.A.C. meeting

Tish Temple adjourned the meeting. Next scheduled meeting will be February 12^th.
