S.A.C. Members Present: Sally

Cawthorne, Anniese Curley, Jenness DeBruler , Mary Kirsten, Don Knoepfle, Mike O’Brien, Pat Robison, Yasmin Rodriguez, Nina Schwartz, Elaine Stewart.

(Principal), Heidi Braun (K rep.), Mary Pedro (1st grade rep.),
Lorraine Kaminske (2nd grade rep.), Jessica Knarr, (3rd grade rep.), Mike
O'Brien, (4th grade rep.), Caren Callahan, (5th grade
rep.), Carolyn Lax (E.S.E. rep.), Scott Harris (Specials rep.) Cori Jenkins, (Academic
Team rep.), Debbie Ackley (Classified rep.), and Jeannie Moloney (Administrative
Support rep.)
A joint meeting between S.D.M.T. and
S.A.C. was called to order at 3:45. Mrs. Mancheno introduced the chairs of S.A.C.
and S.D.M.T. (Tish
Temple, S.A.C. chair and
Lorraine Kaminske, S.D.M.T., chair).
Lorraine Kaminske shared background
information with the S.A.C. committee, as to how S.D.M.T. arrived at their proposal.
Mrs. Mancheno reviewed the two
proposals for the group.
S.A.C.’s
Proposal:
·
75% of funds for staff bonuses: for
everyone here last year (2006-2007) $76,812.00 before taxes
·
20% of funds for materials and
supplies for every current teacher for classrooms -To use this year
(2007-2008). $20,483.00 split between 89 classrooms = $230.00
·
5% funds for student
recognition - $5120.80
S.D.M.T.’s
Proposal:
·
$5,700.00 Book Fair Allowance (1140 students)
·
$17,800 for classrooms -$200.00 per
teacher – 89 current teachers
·
The remainder for staff bonuses for
last year’s staff , $78,916.00

Include all staff: instructional and
classified

Equal amount for all fulltime
employees

Must have worked at Lamarque at
least 7 months during 2006-2007.

Bonuses include staff members who left, if they worked 7 months or more.
Jenness DeBreuler stated that
the main difference between the two proposals is the student recognition. The two
proposals are very close.
Pat Robison noted we need age appropriate books for 4th and 5th
grade students.
The group discussed the book fair
allowance. It was determined that we need to have a variety of levels and
selections at $5.00 and below.
Mrs. Mancheno said that we will make sure there is a
good selection of books for all ages and reading levels at $5.00 or less.
Mrs. Mancheno explained that if we do not come to a school decision by
November 1, 2007, the A+ funds will go to bonuses for this year’s teachers.
Mrs. Mancheno requested that S.A.C. come to agreement with S.D.M.T. on the
proposal.
S.A.C. Chair, Tish
Temple, made a motion to
approve S.D.M.T.s proposal. The motion was seconded. All S.A.C. members agreed, none were opposed.
All approved and the motion to approve the S.D.M.T. proposal passed.
Tish Temple, noted that S.A.C. approved
S.D.M.T.’s proposal.
The recommendation will be submitted to the district. Funds will be
distributed.
