Minutes from previous SAC meeting on February 13, 2007.

New Business:
Lamarque is currently at 1,049 students. Due to this growing population of students,
the number of teachers per grade level and the use of portables will have to be
reviewed for next year.
Fourth grade is planning for FCAT Survival Day on May
17th, which will be a celebration of what the third-fifth graders
have accomplished this year. Fourth
grade is also preparing a summer challenge packet for the third grade students
to help prepare them for their fourth grade year.
Ms. Schwartz discussed the preparation for the SAT 9
for first and second grade. After Spring
Break, Lamarque will be continuing our progress monitoring in each grade level
to help identify the needs of the students.
Kindergarten will be administering the DIBELS assessment. Lewis Writing training and McREL training are
coming closer to completion.
Specials celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday by having a
Seuss-A-Thon.
Third grade is looking forward to also participating
in the FCAT Survival Day.
PTO is continuing to prepare for the end-of-the-year
Hoedown. Baskets are being donated for
the silent auction.
Lori Ackling indicated that Busey Bank will be
donating savings bonds for the Hoedown.
Don Knoepfle shared some new products that were on
display at the Atlanta Conference he recently attended. Many companies are reducing the “fluff” and
focusing on more academic products such as educational decoratives.
Fifth grade is beginning to discuss curriculum mapping
for next year. They are refining skills
some students are still having difficulties with.
First grade is preparing for their parent night, where
they will focus on skills that have been taught and activities designed to
better to prepare them for second grade.
The first grade students will be visiting the second grade classes to
answer any questions they may have about second grade.
Mrs. Mancheno indicated the budget for next year will
be coming soon. SAC will be looking at
Lewis training for next year, new trainings that will be implemented and school
improvement goals. Any new training will
go through SDMT first.
