Principal’s Report:

Janet Ndah filled in for Mr. Maher.  Ms. Ndah explained that we filled Ms. Haupt position with our third Assistant Principal, Chris Cale.   Chris was an administrator in Pinellas County.  He will be the 8th grade AP.

Joanna Hapner is beginning English teacher of the year and BMS teacher of the year.  The school board is honoring her this evening.

Ms. Ndah told everyone about the Dunk book.  It was read in every classroom at BMS.  Students received tickets if they answer questions about the book correctly.   Teachers volunteered to sit in a dunk machine for students to throw balls at them.  Tickets were drawn from bags for each grade level.  It was a great success.

BMS is presenting the school improvement plan to the school board next Wednesday.  Ms. Ndah is inviting anyone from SAC that would like to come.

TV cabaret is being held on Thursday, November 18th.  Renaissance will be held on Friday, November 19th.  Thanksgiving break is being held on next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday no school.

PTSA Report:

Kim Davis updated everyone on the Booker Bash.  We may be having it at the Sarasota County Club this year instead of Michael’s on the East.    VPA is going to be redoing the pamphlets.  There will not be a fall festival.   PTSA may be helping with another fund raiser after the first of the year to help each team.

Carlton Shelley thanked PTSA for giving money for Odyssey of the mind.   PTSA gave the startup money for Odyssey of the mind.  They will be participating in the spring fundraiser.  Bo Guerino explained the Odyssey of the Mind program.  She wanted to know what was money budgeted for.  Kim Davis explained for registration and materials need to do projects.  $300.00 awarded.

Susan Blake reminded everyone of the December 14th meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 6:19.
