Principal’s
Report:
Janet Ndah filled in for Mr. Maher. Ms. Ndah explained
that we filled Ms. Haupt position with our third
Assistant Principal, Chris Cale. Chris was an administrator in
Joanna Hapner is beginning English teacher of the year and BMS
teacher of the year. The school board is
honoring her this evening.
Ms. Ndah told everyone about the Dunk book. It was read in every classroom at BMS. Students received tickets if they answer
questions about the book correctly.
Teachers volunteered to sit in a dunk machine for students to throw
balls at them. Tickets were drawn from
bags for each grade level. It was a
great success.
BMS is
presenting the school improvement plan to the school board next Wednesday. Ms. Ndah is
inviting anyone from SAC that would like to come.
TV cabaret
is being held on Thursday, November 18th. Renaissance will be held on Friday, November
19th. Thanksgiving break is
being held on next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday no school.
PTSA Report:
Kim Davis
updated everyone on the Booker Bash. We
may be having it at the Sarasota County Club this year instead of Michael’s on
the East. VPA is going to be redoing
the pamphlets. There will not be a fall
festival. PTSA may be helping with another
fund raiser after the first of the year to help each team.
Carlton
Shelley thanked PTSA for giving money for Odyssey of the mind. PTSA gave the startup money for Odyssey of
the mind. They will be participating in
the spring fundraiser. Bo Guerino explained the Odyssey of the Mind program. She wanted to know what was
money budgeted for. Kim Davis
explained for registration and materials need to do projects. $300.00 awarded.
Susan Blake
reminded everyone of the December 14th meeting.
