Hello Gulf Gate Families!
Welcome to the weekly Miller’s Minute with important Gulf Gate information for you. Here are some exciting things and updates for you and your family:
· Has your child brought in their unopened full-size box of cereal for our Cereal Box Domino Challenge? Friday is National Cereal Day and we will work together to create a chain reaction (think cereal dominos) using all of the boxes we collect. Then, we will donate them to a local food pantry to support families in our area. See the flyer (here) and send in your box (or boxes) tomorrow!
· We are excited to welcome Kona Ice Pre-Pay this Wednesday. Please see the attached flyer (here) and order your child’s treat today!
· First, a huge thank you for anyone who enjoyed our last spirit night at Culver’s. We raised nearly $1,000 for our school, thanks to YOU! This Friday we have a spirit night at one of my favorite places, Panera from 4-8pm at 6589 S. Tamiami Trail. Can we beat our record? Let’s head over to Panera on Friday, mention Gulf Gate, and see what we can raise.
· Our fifth-grade team is working to raise money for their Accelerated Reader Trip and will be selling Spring Shout Outs from March 3rd-10th in the lobby. Send a shout out to a friend, child, staff member, or entire class and help our 5th grade students earn funds for their trip.
· Does your child love Science, Engineering, Technology, the Arts, and Math? We will be having our STEAM night on Wednesday, March 11th from 6:00-7:00pm. Mark your calendar and stay tuned for more information.
· Please do not drop students off before 8am. If you do have a need to drop off earlier, please contract Mr. Nick from the YMCA for Before Care information. He can be reached at 941-525-0742. Drop off time for students NOT in before care is 8:00 if they are eating breakfast or 8:15 to go straight to class. Students dropped off earlier are unsupervised.
· Finally, keep in mind that we are on Spring Break from March 16-March 20th , so plan accordingly.
