The School Board Of Sarasota County, Florida welcomes the opportunity for a business relationship with interested merchants.
The District's Purchasing Office is interested in fostering participation by all qualified businesspersons offering commodities and/or services that may be used by the District.
The Purchasing Office has the responsibility to make the most economical acquisition of quality materials and services that will assure the efficient operation of the school system.
It is essential that businesspersons interested in working with the School Board become familiar with the district's purchasing policies and procedures. Specific questions and concerns not addressed here should be directed to the Director of Materials Management.
PURCHASING OFFICE MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the School Board of Sarasota County Purchasing Office is to provide materials and services required for all students to obtain the highest level of achievement.
The Purchasing Office is dedicated to providing the School District with the services necessary to accomplish its operational missions and to provide fair and equitable treatment to all vendors who wish to do business with the School District.
The objectives of the Purchasing Office in carrying out the mission statement involve:
Operating at the highest standards of ethical conduct and purchasing professionalism through strict adherence to the Code of Ethics of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing.
Expeditious completion of the procurement process for products and services required by the academic and administrative departments of the District.
Fostering a positive attitude of customer-oriented processes within the Purchasing operation.
Implementation of effective and equitable programs ensuring the maximum participation possible in the competitive procurement process for the vendor community.
