Gulf Coast Community Foundation

Successful implementation of The TechActive Community entails the components of the unique, physical environment, from classroom furniture to the advanced student-technology, as well as teacher training and support.  The TechActive Community is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.

The Gulf Coast Community Foundation is a public charity that awards grants in the areas of arts and culture, health and human services, education, civic affairs, and the environment.  Together, with its donors, the GCCF works to “transform its region through bold and proactive philanthropy”. For More information visit the Gulf Coast Community Foundation website.

The support of the Gulf Coast Community Foundation is instrumental in the construction of the TechActive environment.  Donors fund the resources that make the TechActive classrooms an environment that promotes 21st Century Learning:  collaborative stations comprised of tombstone-shaped tables, rolling chairs, and touch screen monitors, as well as resources used for instructional technology such as TI Handhelds, lab cradles, digital micropes, and sensors.
